Oliver Mtukudzi is ready to rock and rumble with his Mzansi fans.
The legendary Zimbabwe-born artist is one of the headline acts that will perform at the 10th Tlokwe Family Day Jazz Festival on Friday. The event, which is expected to attract thousands of party-goers at Potchefstroom Dam, North West is set to be a blast.
It also features the likes of Nathi, Ringo, Lira, Bhudaza, Naima Kay, Thandiswa Mazwai, Solly Mahlangu, Ray Phiri, Thebe and Shimza. “My supporters can expect a great show in Potchefstroom. I have prepared a festive set to celebrate the New Year with them,” said Oliver.He said he is also looking forward to watching other musicians who will be performing on the day.
With more than 53 albums, he said his fans can expect to hear some of their favourites songs from his previous releases. Oliver has become the most recognised voice to emerge from Zimbabwe and onto the international scene and has earned a devoted following across Africa and beyond. The organisers will also have a VIP marque for 100 guests.
There will be a three-course meal served as well as arrival snacks and refreshments, finger lunch and dinner and a full bar tab, and also a chance to rub shoulders with artists and gifts for selected guests.
Tickets are available from R250 at the gate. VIP tickets are R1 500 and parking R20.
