Harare – MP Psychology Maziwisa has been appalled that no-one seems to be helping Lawrence Simbarashe, better known as Bhonzo, who has fallen on hard times. He is doing something about it via Facebook. “What has moved me, and I’m going to be as blunt as i can be about this, is not so much that he has since fallen on hard times. It is rather the fact that we seem not to be doing anything about it.
What’s worse, Bonzo’s is not an isolated case. It is now part of a culture. This sort of thing happens every now and again. It is unacceptable and ungodly.
As a lawmaker, I’m going to make noise about this in Parliament and see if we can advocate for the introduction of a policy that looks after people like him.But where are the local churches? I hear Bonzo stays in St Marys – where is the local leadership? Where are the NGOs? Where the hell is everyone else?
While we wait for these questions to be answered, I’ve got a proposal to make: Let’s gather a few things (no donation is ever too small) here on Facebook and arrange a delegation (which i shall be a part of) to visit Bonzo’s house in Chitungwiza this Friday. All are welcome.”
