A woman was stabbed to death by her angry husband who found N-aughty WhatsApp messages in her phone from a boyfriend.
Tendai Nkomo, 31, of Mukwa drive, Hwange was remanded in custody to September, 28 when he appeared before provincial magistrate, Portia Mhlanga yesterday. He allegedly killed his wife, Sithembile Luphahla, 23, on Thursday.
Nkomo who is facing a murder charge, appeared unmoved by the allegations when the charge was read to him during his initial appearance.
Prosecutor, Fadzai Maradzi told the court that Nkomo escorted his wife from a flea market where she has a stall, to her sister’s house in Raylton. “When they got there, the deceased took her clothes and started doing her laundry while her husband was drinking opaque beer sitting next to her,” said the prosecutor. Later that night at around 9PM, the court heard, Nkomo sent the couple’s three year old son to fetch his phone from the house. “However, the boy made a mistake and brought his mother’s phone instead.
Nkomo then began to scroll through the phone,” said Maradzi. She said Nkomo stumbled on love messages from a man he suspected to be having an affair with his wife. “A misunderstand ensued between the two and in a fit of rage Nkomo picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed the now deceased several times and his last blow left the knife stuck in her back,” said Maradza.
