Kelly Khumalo thought of using DRUGS when Senzo Meyiwa was KILLED

KELLY KHUMALO lost her lover, Senzo Meyiwa. And she was in deep unbearable pain . . . SHE THOUGHT DRUGS WOULD HELP HER OUT! Kelly Khumalo said: “It crossed my mind.”

The Asine hitmaker made this shock revelation in a no-holds-barred interview with Sunday Sun’s sister magazine True Love – due to hit the shelves tomorrow.

Soccer hero Senzo was shot and killed during an alleged robbery at Kelly’s mum’s house at Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni, in October last year.

Many of her friends allegedly feared she might relapse – because she had lost her man, and his family had barred her from attending the funeral.

When asked about dealing with the tragedy and seeking relief in drugs, Kelly wa quoted as saying: “It crossed my mind. I thought I needed something to numb the pain, but what surprised me was that nothing in my mind or body was craving anything.

“It also felt like I’d be postponing the recovery if I did drugs. It was important for me to

remain sober, although I knew it wouldn’t be easy. It still isn’t. “And I had my kids to consider. I’m all they have.”

Kelly gave horrifying details of the night Senzo was gunned down.

“My kids were both there when Senzo was shot and killed, and I know one day they’ll ask questions.

“Christian used to ask what happened, but now he doesn’t any more. He was very close to Senzo. In fact, after Senzo was shot, Christian was pulling his hand – I think trying to save him, in a way.

“And Thingo always says ‘Daddy, Daddy’. Every day she looks at a photo of him in the house.

“Not so long ago, she took out her dad’s medal from the drawer and wore it around her neck. “She had it on the whole day. I don’t know, but it’s like she sees him,” Kelly told True Love. She said after the tragedy, she went under a self-imposed house arrest.

“I stayed away from social networks. I knew I was going to be called names. And I knew I was going to be hated by

people who had never even heard of me.”
