The queen of African comedy lived up to the hype as she delivered rib cracking jokes at her show which took place at the 7 Arts theatre in Harare last night. With her heavily accented diction, Anne Kansiime had the audience cracking up with laughter. Throwing punchline after punchline, Kansiime was on fire.

Dressed in a red outfit, she made a grand entrance when she was introduced by Carl Joshua. The whole auditorium was filled with screams, the Ugandan comedy queen had the crowd in a frenzy.

She joked about African ladies and how they dance, she also spoke about how she was a naughty child while growing up.

The highlight of the evening was when she was talked about relationships and how to tell how long a couple has been married. She asked some lady what she calls her husband and she said ‘baby’. Kansiime also asked Mrs Monica Mutsvangwa, Minister  Christopher Mutsvangwa’s wife what she calls her husband and she said ‘comrade’. The room went up with laughter .

Anne impressed in every way. Her jokes were on point and very relevant despite the fact that she is Ugandan. She invited musician Brian Kadengu to the stage and he played his guitar while she sang (and she has a lovely voice).

The show had a good line up of entertainers with the likes of Long John, Doc Vikela and Carl Joshua. Carl was the MC killed it showing that he is the king of comedy in Zimbabwe.

There was only one hiccup during the show. Tariro NeGitare  performed an accapella because a connection problem with her guitar.

the comedy industry is growing in Zimbabwe for example Toll Ass Mo  cracked up people at Shoko Festival.

If you missed the show, do not worry you can still catch another show on Sunday, November 15, 2015, at 7 Arts in Harare.
