At just four-years-old, Oratilwe Hlongwane popularly known as DJ Arch Jnr, is set to play alongside some of SA’s biggest house music sensations, including DJ Black Coffee and DJ Christos at the Back to the Old Skool concert on 27 February.
The toddler’s musical talents made international headlines after he became the youngest winner of reality show, SA’s Got Talent in November last year.
Arch Jnr’s natural talent and flair for music captured the hearts of people across the country.
It has been announced that Arch will share the stage with some of SA’s house music legends, as well as international superstars Roger Sanchez, David Morales, Jazzie B and Todd Terry at the global celebration of house music later this month.
Also joining the list of SA artists are DJ Ganyani, Bob Mabena, DJ Mbuso Phezulu, Sishisoul and Fistaz Mixwell.
Arch Jnr, who hails from Alexandra, walked away with the grand prize of R500 000 after emerging victorious against six other contestants at last year’s finale of SA’s Got Talent.
Shortly after news of the toddler’s win spread Arch Jnr’s father, Glen Hlongwane had to defend accusations of ‘foul play’ after pictures of the toddler’s turn table with unplugged output cables began circulating. Skeptics accused him of playing pre-recorded mixes to win the talent show.
The accusations were quickly rubbished by Arch’s dad, who explained that a DJ can play with or without the output cables plugged in.
Back to the Old Skool takes place at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown on Saturday, 27 February 27.
